Objective: From the perspective of improving the operation method, we observed, analyzed and researched the clinical effect of TCM GingerMoxibustion at Baliao acupoints for treating moderate and severe primary dysmenorrhea. Methods: We selected 80 patients that met our requirement.They were patients from the gynecology department of TCM Hospital, Huanggang and divided into two groups randomly. Group A took Ginger Moxibustion at Baliao acupoints method, Group B took needling Baliao acupoints method. Group A took skin disinfection, smearing ginger juice, covering TCM warming-menstruation-and-womb powder, covering mulberry paper, covering ginger slice into pancake, putting 9 moxas cones and igniting for about 9 hours. Group B took skin disinfection, needling Baliao acupoints method, hand-manipulating of needle for 1min, retaining the needle for 30min.We observed the two groups of patients before treatment, during the first, second and third period after treatment,using VAS and CMSS criteria evaluation. Results: During the 3-month follow-up period after the treatment, Group A’s total attack time, average severity, pain self-assessment and the total scores of dysmenorrhea symptoms were lower than group B’s.The effect of the two kinds of the treatment differed from each other, and the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Both Ginger Moxibustion at Baliao acupoints method and needling Baliao acupoints method could relieve the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Group A’s score was better than that of group B according to theVAS remarks and COX symptoms remarks. Moreover, in term of overall efficacy and time of onset, Ginger Moxibustion at Baliao acupoints method was obviously better than needling Baliao acupoints method, And also we could conclude that TCM Ginger Moxibustion at Baliao acupoints method was effective and safe for treating moderate and severe primary dysmenorrhea. |
